Read the Fine Print!

My Illustration work, Characters in both their designs, profiles and likenesses, and storyline plots are copyrighted to me through DeviantART.

*In Fanart and Doujinshi, I DO NOT CLAIM to own any of the original series or canon characters. I only stake claim to the story I add and the fan characters that I have created, as well as any images I have created from it.

-Do not copy, trace, 'reference', repost, edit or stake false claim to any content on my deviantart.
- If you wish to use any of my content, you MUST ask me FIRST. If I say no, that's the end of it, you're absolutely not allowed to use my work at all.
- If you use my work without asking or informing me, you will be reported, and served a cease and desist. Actions taken after that point are determined by your own behavior.
- Do not fake my permission for use of any of my material. I will take action, and the reprecussions of fraud just isn't worth it.

Rules do not apply where applicable, such as in the cases of collaberations, coloring contests and artwork I have done for other people by pay, request or trade, or gift art/fan art. In case of collaberation, only the intended party may use the image in question. In case of coloring contest, the image is only to be used underneath the adherance of the rules and must be posted between the contest start and end dates. In the case of Artwork I have done for other people, they own the rights of the image to an extent and can use however they, and only they see fit. In the case of gift art, you may use my character's likenesses as long as you credit the characters to me, as they are mine.

Fair Use does not cover the use of my work by other's, as it is an educational tool ONLY for an educational setting. I doubt there's any teachers out there showcasing my work.

Derivative does not cover use of my work by others unless you were writing a fanfic or doujinshi about it, in which case you would still have to credit me.

A Hypothetical Question

Sun May 13, 2012, 3:53 PM

So, going into hypotheticals, because this bothers me to no end.

Let's say that you're mutual friends of two girls; Katie and Jane. Katie is Jane's senior by about 5 years.

You introduce Katie to Jane, and Katie really thinks that Jane has some awesome stuff, especially an old necklace that she doesn't really wear anymore but she still treasures very much. So while you and Jane have your back turned to talk about the weather, weekend plans, ect., Katie pockets the necklace for herself.

Now, the necklace is one of a kind. Not another one of it ever exists, and you see Katie the next day, wearing one that looks practically identical, but it has a new chain, is a different color and has a few extra rhinestones on it -- and then you hear Jane say hers is missing!

But Katie would NEVER steal from anyone -- right?
People who know what Jane's necklace looks like tell her what Katie's new necklace looks like. She is infuriated, and rips the necklace from Katie's neck. She chips a rhinestone away, and sure enough paint comes off with it. She chips the rest of the paint away, and there is her missing necklace.

Katie swears up and down she didn't steal it. She found it on the street. She didn't know who it belonged to -- despite the fact that you watched Jane show her necklace, telling her it was one of a kind. Katie then rallies the rest of her friends to start insulting Jane, hit her, spit on her, ect.

If you would choose to support Katie in this scenario -- why?

Let's take it a bit further. A while later, another one of your friends, Sally, says the earrings she made herself went missing. You notice Katie wearing a pair IDENTICAL to them -- and she's selling duplicates of her earrings, claiming they're casts from her original design she made herself.

When you ask her about them, she says she was 'inspired' by Sally's earrings, and made a pair herself, intending to make profit off them because she knows they will sell. You ask her why she doesn't at least credit Sally for the design, to which she says, "She really doesn't deserve it. Mine look better anyways." saying that she only 'referenced' the design, continuing to claim full credit.

Would you continue to support Katie? If so, why?

These scenarios are a replica of a situation going on DA right now. I will not name names, and I expect my watchers not to do the same.
However, I want to know why ANYONE would stand behind a person like this; Someone who has been PROVEN to steal content, and continues to do so to this day.

So answer me, DA. Bring your friends here, bring the friends of your friends here. Give me some answers.

BECAUSE THIS FUCKING BAFFLES ME.

But leave the 'fanart is stealing too!' at the door. Because no, and because Parody and Derivative.

I'll have some artwork updates next weekend, but for now I want some rest. Home life is getting hectic enough, I may end up moving in with a friend, but more on that later. It's a VERY long story.

And if I do move, projects will be pushed back until I GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE.

I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. Things are almost back to normal! How about you, everything good? Coming to Sakuracon this year?

Been going through a lot lately, but hanging in there. :) Busy with school and work, too.

I'll be at Sakura Con this year! It will be my last, sadly. Gotta start saving money afterwards for moving out and I'm kind of losing my steam for the anime community.

Ah!

So this just means me making sad eyes and whining that we should spend a bit of time together this year being awesome super friends. Right?

I still gots my Nia if that sounds like fun! (She might need a bit 'o repair, though.)
